others are fiercely shy,
others would rather die.

A muted ‘please’ in the dark,
the dregs of a broken bottle,
curling wisps, inked skin, shaven head,
a call to be.
Returning.
at once joyous, poignant and bittersweet.
mistakes, living and framed,
walking testaments of hasty decisions,
uncertain smiles, unseeing eyes, pained hearts.
Return.
Always, always, return.
